Exposed Brick Effect: Get The Look With Tiles

Exposed brick; one of the most popular trends in the field of architecture and interior design, and increasingly present in international projects across the world, it is a trend that we are obsessing over, and so should you! From warehouse inspired industrial looks, to vintage charm designs, and stunning white Hampton’s styling, create an exposed brick look in your home without the hassle of actual brick.

Bricks are timeless, although using real brick can come with a few cons, for example:

  • They are quite porous, and will attract dirt, dust, and can also absorb cooking oils of not sealed, which can lead to deterioration and mould.

  • They require maintenance to stop them from deteriorating

  • If you are planning on ripping into the plaster to reveal the existing brick, you may be caught with a nasty surprise like the bricks and mortar beginning to crack and crumble

  • By revealing your pre-existing brick wall, you will need to take into consideration the colour of the brick, and how that will sit with your room design and colour scheme.

That is why brick-look tiles work so well, with a variety in colours and finishes to suit you, get the look of exposed brick without the hassle. Brick look tiles can be used in many applications, some of these being on walls, floors, external facades, feature walls and more. They are also versatile, allowing you to lay them in different formations and patterns to suit your design.

We have asked one of our Interior Designers, Belinda to introduce a range of Italia Ceramics’ brick tiles as well as trends and styling options, starting with the always popular all white trend, Hampton’s styling.

Get the Hampton’s Look

Who says using all white in the kitchen has to look boring? By using a white brick look tile you will add texture and depth to an all-white area, giving your kitchen a sense of character and charm.

A popular choice in Hampton’s styling, is to lay a white brick tile to a kitchen splashback with white grout.

If you feel daring you can also use them on a floor in a herringbone pattern to capture the full essence of the Hampton’s look.

Muretto Series

The Muretto series delivers an urban look and feel of Bricks, crafting three shades of colour that remain true to the brick generation. Classic colours - white, grey wash and red– make for a fresh, stylishly contemporary look. This look is thanks to a ceramic surface that renders a chalky, matt effect, with uneven edges which create a real handmade brick look.

Unlike real bricks, these brick tiles require no sealing, they are moisture resistant, and can be used both indoors and outdoors, as well as on floors and walls.

Split Series

Add character and warmth to your next project with our newest brick tiles, the Split series. These brick look tiles are perfect for a contemporary finish, and to add an element of colour to your design.

The new contemporary palette from the Split Series sees five colours to choose from, all with a rustic glazed surface.

If you are after vintage charm with a modern twist, the Split series is for you.

Piastrella Series

The Piastrella series consists of four neutral tones, all with a gloss finish. Sleek lines and simple harmony provide a calm and serene space that reflects your style and flair. The design of these brick look tiles, allows you to push the boundaries with the look and finish of a hand glazed brick.
